Als ich am Nachmittag bei sonnigem Wetter bergauf fuhr, sank die Temperatur bereits unter -10 Grad und der von schräg vorne kommende Wind wurde immer wie stärker. Ich erreichte den Irkeshtam Pass kurz vor dem Sonnenuntergang. Schnell machte ich ein Selfie, bevor ich eine meiner bis damals kältesten Abfahrten in Angriff nahm. Mir war jedoch klar, dass ich in den kommenden Wochen in Kasachstan und Sibirien oft mit kälteren Temperaturen konfrontiert werden würde.
